Due to a water main break, residents and businesses in two areas of southeast Seattle are being asked not to use tap water for drinking or cooking – unless it is boiled – until further notice. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) crews are working to restore water to portions of southeast Seattle after a 20-inch water main broke on South Juneau Street, just east of Martin Luther King Jr.Way. As many as 1,300 homes may be affected by the outage. For more information and a map of affected areas, please see this blog posting.
