Every fall through Project Cool, Seattle King County Coalition on Homelessness (SKCCH) members and volunteers make helps homeless students who may have lost most or all of their personal possessions get the school supplies they need to feel confident and be prepared for the start of school. For more than 24 years, Project Cool has helped more than 23,000 homelessness students be ready for the first day of school. Project Cool for Back-to-School needs volunteers this month to help prepare 1,300 backpacks to make sure that homeless children in preschool through twelfth grade start the school year off right in the fall.
